Camera Couture

I recently invested in a very nice DSLR camera from Canon and have been chomping at the bit to use it EVERYWHERE! I'm ready to become quite the shutter bug...BUT, I find myself torn at the thought of draping my new XSi around my neck and letting it bump my chest with each step as I wait for the perfect shot opportunity to present itself. There is something far too touristy about it all. So...I thought I'd better start looking into camera bag options. Can I say that it was depressing!!
Ok...good: It was DEPRESSING!
Everything was SO utilitarian and just screamed 'I AM A CAMERA BAG' in big teflon letters!(sigh) How hard can it be to come up with some cute alternatives for us ladies that don't want to lug around Mr. Ugly-Hardware-Holder?!
Enter Tracy Joy. And what a joy it was! I stumbled across her site and fell in love with her designs. She's got everything from paisley to polka dots and at least three different bag designs to choose from. I personally love the Joey bag and can't wait for the next paycheck so that I can order my own in brown with the Acanthus print! One more awesome thing to mention...the print is only on the flap - which is interchangeable! How cool is that?! You can order different flaps and change them out according to your outfit or mood. Very nice.

Just Go To The Zoo!

So, one of my favorite sites to waste...ummm, I mean wisely spend...my time on is Phonezoo.com. I can't even begin to tell you how many fun and COMPLETELY FREE ringtones I've downloaded off of this site...easy as pie and no strings attached. You can create your own list of favorites, send them to your phone (or save to your PC to download to phone later), or just browse. Also, any of your own music files can be downloaded to the site and you can make it into your very own original ringtone! I love it and hope you do too...here is just a sampling of what I've saved to My Zoo...

Check it out. They've also got wallpaper you can download to your phone...also completely free! Wahoo!

The Golden Boy

Everybody has a different 'favorite sport' to watch on the Olympics. Gymnastics...diving...track: it all depends on who we've got on our team that will be the most thrilling to watch. Case in point: Michael Phelps. In Athens four years ago, Phelps blew people away with how well he did as a relatively new swimmer on the Olympic scene...and now in Beijing everybody is watching to see if he will actually hit that 8 Gold Medals mark that many claimed he could never make. Even if you don't like to watch swimming...you can't help but be impressed!
I must admit, I've stayed up till well after midnight every night...waiting to see if Phelps would win that next Gold...and the next...and the next. My favorite Olympic moment so far has got to be the men's 400-Free relay (see the video below). It was one of those moments that make you stand up and cheer...and I mean that literally.

Custom Kicks? Check Out Keds.

Have you ever gone shoe shopping and thought to yourself? 'This is great...but if only I could add this color here or a little print there...it would ROCK!'. Well, here's your chance to do it. Keds now has the ability to let you download your own photos, pick out colors, and even change the stitching on a personalized pair of shoes. I spent a little bit of time on there today and had a blast throwing together some ridiculous shoes. When I finally settled down and customized something that was actually wearable, this is what happened:

Yeah...they're nothing overly fabulous, but if you're into pink, plaid, and polka dots than this may be the shoe for you! You can save your designs and go back later to modify or even put them up for sale on the Zazzle website and earn some money if people deside to buy your fabulous designs! So, go ahead and check out Keds' website, pick your kicks, and start getting creative!

More Salsa Please...Extra Spicey!!

As a regular watcher of shows like "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing With The Stars", I might be considered a fan of dancing and those who can do it. However, recently I went from sideliner to participator. Yessss!! I have joined the dance crave! And in my eager quest for more dancing knowledge, I stumbled across this particularly interesting and absolutely free salsa tutorial site called Addicted 2 Salsa . This site is good for newbies (like me) who want to learn the basics and for those of you who are already beyond the basic steps and would like a few new moves to spice it up out on the floor. Definitely check out this site's videos and grab your partner for some fun!
