Raindrops on Roses and Whiskers on Kittens

My Son:

My Niece:

My Backyard Bugs:

I don't have much to write about right now, but since I've become exceptionally fond of my new camera and become quite the shutter bug...I thought I could at least share a little in photos. My family went on a vacation recently that involved Disney World and the beach and these are a few of my favorites from that trip. Nothing fancy about these pics...but fun. Great memories captured on film. :o)

Camera Couture

I recently invested in a very nice DSLR camera from Canon and have been chomping at the bit to use it EVERYWHERE! I'm ready to become quite the shutter bug...BUT, I find myself torn at the thought of draping my new XSi around my neck and letting it bump my chest with each step as I wait for the perfect shot opportunity to present itself. There is something far too touristy about it all. So...I thought I'd better start looking into camera bag options. Can I say that it was depressing!!
Ok...good: It was DEPRESSING!
Everything was SO utilitarian and just screamed 'I AM A CAMERA BAG' in big teflon letters!(sigh) How hard can it be to come up with some cute alternatives for us ladies that don't want to lug around Mr. Ugly-Hardware-Holder?!
Enter Tracy Joy. And what a joy it was! I stumbled across her site and fell in love with her designs. She's got everything from paisley to polka dots and at least three different bag designs to choose from. I personally love the Joey bag and can't wait for the next paycheck so that I can order my own in brown with the Acanthus print! One more awesome thing to mention...the print is only on the flap - which is interchangeable! How cool is that?! You can order different flaps and change them out according to your outfit or mood. Very nice.

Dreaming in Disney

I've been stumbling across these beautiful pictures over the past week and as I was 'oohing' and 'ahhing' over them, (and finding more and more - to my delight) it seemed to me that they were all reminiscent of something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. DUH! They were all famous Disney movie moments! Once I figured it out, I couldn't believe that I didn't even realize they were all part of a series of photographs! (Well, once I saw the Snow White one...it got REALLY obvious) This series is called 'Disney Dream Portraits' and they are done by the one and only - Annie Leibovitz. If the name doesn't ring a bell then look her up and you'll be sure to recognize some of her work.

These three are my favorites:

Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella
Rachel Weisz as Snow WhiteJessica Biel as Pocohontas
Other photos feature Drew Barrymore as Belle from 'Beauty and the Beast', Julianne Moore as Ariel from 'The Little Mermaid', Giselle Bundchen as Wendy from 'Peter Pan', Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony as Jasmine & Aladdin from 'Aladdin', and the list goes on...
Apparently, Disney has yet to 'release' these pictures to the public. So, since there is no official website that I can point you to in order to check out all these beautiful images on your own, I would recommend trying a little bit of Googling. :o) Happy hunting!
